Mark Reino Peltonen was born in 1974 in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, otherwise known simply as “The Soo”.  He started hitchhiking in his teens after seeing Hippies along the Trans Canada highway in the late 70’s, a sight that left an indelible mark on his psyche.

He received his degree in English from York University in 1998.  After graduating he travelled further to Europe and Asia, spending most of that time in Ireland and Japan. He has taken much of the inspiration for these poems from these travels as well as the incredible nature and wonder of Canada and Upper Peninsula Michigan.

  1. Hi thanks for following my blog. I like your tag line and reference to well placed commas it reminds of one of my favourite Oscar Wilde quotes “I have spent most of the day putting in a comma and the rest of the day taking it out.”

  2. Congratulations on your poetry book! Thank you for visiting my blog and helping me discover you and your wonderful writing – it’s always a pleasure to meet a fellow pilgrim on a journey with meaningful words. 🙂
